The Black Experience Training Series - for non-Black identifying allies: Session 2 

Reminder: in this series, Session 1 is open to all participants, Session 2A is specific for non-Black identifying allies, and Session 2B is for Black-identifying folks only. Please register accordingly. 

This virtual workshop is tailored for non-Black identifying allies who are committed to fostering inclusivity and equity within the early childhood care sector. 

Participants will engage in a safe and supportive environment for reflection and discussion, by examining the complexities of allyship, unpacking biases and privilege, and exploring strategies for supporting Black colleagues and children in the early childhood care sector.

Session Objective

 

    • Review core concepts related to allyship 

 

    • Dissect the concept of allyship and strategies for becoming an effective upstander and culturally relative educator in the face of discrimination and injustice

 

    • Develop the ability to lead with confidence, even in challenging or uncomfortable situations, as a foundation for effective allyship
