Bio

Sabrin Saraj is a passionate and dedicated Registered Early Childhood Educator with over 11 years of experience in the field. She has worked with children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, kindergarteners, and elementary school students. Sabrin holds a Teaching Degree from the University of New Brunswick, where she focused on anti-oppressive and equitable learning practices in the early years.

Having immigrated to this land and experiencing statelessness until the age of seven, Sabrin brings a unique perspective to her work as a Black, Muslim woman. Her personal experiences have shaped her commitment to promoting culturally responsive teaching in education. She views learning through an anti-oppressive lens, striving to create a safe and supportive environment for all students.

In recognition of her dedication to equity and inclusivity, Sabrin was honoured with the OCDSB\'s excellence in equity award in 2021. She has also served as a board director for Parents for Diversity, an organization dedicated to advocating for fair and inclusive learning environments for all students.

Through her work, Sabrin continues to advocate for historically marginalized communities and strives to ensure that every child has access to quality education and opportunities to achieve their fullest potential.
