With the rollout of the updated Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) guidelines, Toronto Children's Services will be hosting virtual information sessions. These sessions aim to support educators in understanding the revised AQI language and help them apply this more inclusive approach to their practices.

The language updates reflect our ongoing commitment to inclusive practices, anti-bias education, and supporting all children and families. Developed through over two years of collaboration with key partners and experts, these updates emphasize respect, equity, and diversity, empowering educators to create spaces where every child and family feels valued.

While the core AQI expectations remain unchanged, the updated guidelines place a stronger focus on inclusive, anti-bias practices, promoting reconciliation, equity, and inclusion in early learning programs.

Please note that each of the six sessions will cover the same content and be delivered in a webinar format to accommodate various schedules.

Session Objective

To equip educators with a clear understanding of the updated Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) guidelines, focusing on the revised inclusive language, and to provide practical strategies for integrating anti-bias and equitable practices into early learning environments.
