Looking to add a spark of creativity to your early learning environment? Join us for a fun and interactive rock painting workshop designed specifically for Early Learning professionals! This isn’t just about arts and crafts — it’s about seeing the potential in simple, natural materials and transforming them into meaningful tools for play and learning. Rocks are a powerful example of loose parts — open-ended materials that children can explore, manipulate, and use in a variety of ways. By bringing these outdoor elements into the classroom, we strengthen children's connection to nature while offering them rich, sensory, and imaginative experiences. Whether you’re just starting out or already love creating your own classroom resources, this session will inspire you with creative ideas for using painted rocks in all learning areas — from storytelling and literacy, to numeracy, dramatic play, and STEAM. You’ll see how something as small as a rock can spark curiosity, build skills, and support child-led exploration. Enjoy a hands-on break from your busy routine, connect with fellow educators, and walk away with your own set of beautifully painted rocks — ready to support meaningful, nature-connected learning in your space.
This workshop invites all Early Learning professionals to explore the creative potential of painted rocks as versatile learning tools. Participants will discover how to design and adapt painted rock activities to enhance children's engagement in key developmental areas such as literacy, numeracy, storytelling, dramatic play, and STEAM. By the end of the session, professionals will leave with hands-on ideas and ready-to-use materials that support meaningful play and learning across the early years environment.
