This two-part online training will take place on June 3 and 5 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM.
Please note that this training is intended for those who support or coach educators (e.g. Resource Consultants, Supervisor/Director) who have completed the Principles of Collaborative Consultation with Staff in Child Care Centres and Teacher Talk A training.
This training will address how to change the behaviour of early childhood educators so that they may better support the children in their care through the use of effective consultation strategies based on principles of adult learning. Topics will include the basis for educators' resistance to change, principles of collaborative consultation, effective coaching and the use of video recording as a powerful behaviour change tool. The information in this workshop supports ELF principle 6: Knowledgeable, responsive educators are essential.
Session Objective
- Understand how best to use questions that support reflection and behaviour change in ECEs.
- Identify the important elements of planned coaching when providing recommendations.
- Refer to and add to your Reflection Tool.
