Participants will learn about the importance of communication with young children. In this session, there will be opportunities to learn about the types of communication, and think about how word choice can make positive changes in child development and in Early Learning and Care Programs. In addition, participants will join in and practice their communication through hands on exercises and gain more tools that can be applied to day to day work. 

Session Objective

  • To learn more about the types of communication.
  • Think about and reflect on word choice and how this can make positive changes in child development and Early Learning and Care Programs.
  • To participate in communication exercises and activities to gain more hands-on experiences with new tools and strategies that can be applied to your daily work.
