Description

**Disclaimer:** Unfortunately, if fewer than 5 participants are present, the session will be canceled. Participants will be asked to register for another session.

Participants will learn how to engage Indigenous People and include them in the narrative, the workplace, spaces, systems, and services in a meaningful and purposeful way that promotes respect and an honest awareness of our distinctiveness, resilience, culture, history, and gifts. As we continue to focus on becoming a more inclusive society in a time of Truth and Reconciliation, it is important to understand the role that policy and legislation played in facilitating the attempted elimination of the First People of Turtle Island, now Canada. We will introduce Indigenous concepts of community wellness. We will explore Indigenous histories, societal structures, contemporary issues, and the future landscape.

This opportunity is provided to you by Toronto Children’s Services and funded in partnership with the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada under the new Canada-Ontario Early Childhood Workforce Agreement, which provides one-time federal funding to support the retention and recruitment of a high-quality child care and early years workforce.
