Description

This popular training from The Hanen Centre addresses how to foster language development through daily interaction with young children. Just like the in-person training, this series of three 2½ hour sessions will offer opportunities for discussion, interaction and practice. Participants receive a comprehensive workbook for planning how to apply their new knowledge and language facilitating strategies to their interactions with children in their centres.

NOTE: This training is a pre-requisite to Teacher Talk™ B: Let Language Lead the Way to Literacy and Teacher Talk™ C: Fostering Peer Interaction in Early Childhood Setting.

Session Objective

  • Understand the important role educators play in facilitating language development during daily interactions.
  • Learn and implement strategies that support interaction and language development in infants, toddlers and preschoolers – with specific attention given to maintaining quality interactions amidst new COVID-19 health and safety protocols in childcare settings.
