Join us for the final session in our series to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing Learners. We hope you were able to join us on September 20th and September 27th for our sessions: “An Overview of Hearing, Technology, Language and Brain Development, Inclusive Environments and Developing Self Concept. Today, Darren will discuss American Sign Language- What is it and how is it structured? We will also delve into Incidental Learning. Why is it important and what are some strategies to support the development of incidental learning?
Please note that you can attend this standalone session, or you may attend three parts taking place on September 20, September 27, and October 6 . Upon attending all three sessions, you will receive the certificate from The Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch.
· Understanding that ASL is a language and its structure.
· Understanding the impacts that hearing differences have on Incidental Learning and some strategies to support the development of Incidental Learning.
