Description

Prerequisite: Completion of Teacher Talk Training A & Teacher Talk Training B - Parts 1 & 2

This is the third of three parts training on the "Teacher Talk™ Training B: Let Language Lead the Way to Literacy. To attend this part of the training, you have to register for the Part 1, which will take place on December 1, 2021.

As caregivers of young children, you have a very important role to play in laying the foundation for the development of reading and writing skills. This training will discuss the important links between oral language development and literacy.

Learn how to:

  • help children develop positive attitudes towards the use of print
  • make reading and writing a natural, meaningful part of the day
  • use book reading as a time for interaction and conversation

Participants receive a comprehensive workbook for planning how to apply their new knowledge and how to create an early childhood environment that helps lay the foundations of literacy.

After you register for the session, please contact Larissa Kostevskii via email:  Larissa.kostevskii@humber.ca regarding delivery of the workbook.

Please note that the registration will be closed on November 23, 2021.

Training Requirements:

  • Only registered participants are allowed to attend this workshop. Participants can join the session by computer or tablet. Participants should not join by smart/cell phone as the screen is too small for them to view the Powerpoint slides and other participants in the group

  • Participant’s camera is expected to be on during the workshop session.
