This is the second of three parts training on the "Teacher Talk™ Training A: Encouraging Language Development in Early Childhood Settings". To attend this part of the training, you have to register for the Part 1, which will take place on November 5, 2020.

This popular training from The Hanen Centre addresses how to foster language development through daily interaction with young children. For the first time, it is now being offered online through ZOOM. Just like the in-person training, this series of three 2½ hour sessions will offer opportunities for discussion, interaction and practice.

Participants receive a comprehensive workbook for planning how to apply their new knowledge and language facilitating strategies to their interactions with children in their centres. After you register for the training, please contact Larissa Kostevskii via email:  Larissa.kostevskii@humber.ca regarding delivery of the workbook

Please note that the registration will be closed on October 28th, 2020, a week prior to the event. .

NOTE: This training is a pre-requisite to Teacher Talk™ B: Let Language Lead the Way to Literacy and Teacher Talk™ C: Fostering Peer Interaction in Early Childhood Setting. However, these sessions are not being offered online at this time.

  •  Understand the important role educators play in facilitating language development during daily interactions.
  •  Learn and implement strategies that support interaction and language development in infants, toddlers and preschoolers – with specific attention given to maintaining quality interactions amidst new COVID-19 health and safety protocols in childcare settings.
