In this 2 half-day learning adventure, we aim to facilitate a deep understanding of the philosophy and framework of the solution-focused approach. We engage workshop participants with activities, conversations and learning that provide a basic understanding of the principles and strategies associated with humanistic/solution-focused communication and coaching. We explore how humanistic principles of wholeness, strengths and resources provide a framework for solution-focused strategies such as, leading from behind, question asking, collaboration, keywords using the E (eliciting). A (amplifying). R (reinforcing). S (strengths and resources) model. Our workshops are facilitated by certified solution-focused health care coaches/facilitators.

Session Objective

  • To provide participants with a basic understanding of soultion-focused communication skills.
  • To use the humanistic/solution-focused framework as a scaffold for communication literacy
  • To engage participants in a way that moves them to adopt and experiment with their communication skills in a meaningful manner.
